Course summary

We’ve developed this software development diploma in collaboration with employers and businesses so that you get the specific knowledge and skills required for your career as a software developer. Designed around professional practice in the industry, this diploma will develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours employers want. You’ll first build a foundation of computing and mathematical knowledge and skills. Then, learn the fundamental technologies and techniques relevant to the role of a software developer – an in-demand and valued profession. The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) recognises this diploma of higher education as a Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) in England: approving it as meeting occupational standards for the digital sector. Modules

This software development diploma has two stages, each comprising 120 credits. In Stage 1, you’ll study three 30-credit computing and IT modules and choose one 30-credit mathematics module. In Stage 2, you’ll study four 30-credit modules.
