Course summary
Understand the classical world in all its nuance, diving deep into ancient texts and literature in translation and in their original languages. Study the ancient societies and literature of Classical Greece and Rome, as well as Prehistoric Europe, Ancient Egypt and the Byzantine Empire. Explore literature, culture, religion and history, and discover the many ways in which the legacies of classical antiquity live on in our world today. Why study this course?

- Broaden your understanding of the Classical world by taking optional modules in Ancient History, Archaeology, Heritage and Digital Humanities.
Modules
First-year modules cover a broad base of the subject and are designed to introduce you to ways of studying at university. By the final year the modules you take will become more specialised and reflect the research expertise of the academic staff. More detailed module information can be found on the course page.
