Delve into industry On this MSc Hospitality Leadership degree, we work with several hotel and hospitality partners for mentoring, live briefs, placements, internships and visits. Undertaking work experience is an integral part of the MSc (Hons) Hospitality Leadership degree. This unique approach to studying at BNU, is underlined by our core belief that practical, hands-on experience must always complement a theoretical, research-informed teaching strategy. That is why, as part of your core curriculum, in year two, you’ll put your skills and knowledge into practice through an integrated internship. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in co-curricular, by taking part in community projects organised in collaboration with local hotels, as well as attending guest talks, industry visits and a wide range of networking events, conferences and seminars organised by our school and our industry partners. Assessment method
We adopt a research-informed, industry-centric teaching and learning approach. This includes classic lectures and seminars, as well innovative teaching methods such as real-world case studies, hands-on projects and practical work experience. We balance the academic requirements of a master’s degree with practical skills and industry experience. You will benefit from our strong employer, industry, and trade association links as well as case studies, debates, competitions, masterclasses, and placement opportunities with our industry partners. You’ll learn from lecturers with years of industry and academic expertise. Many of whom are research-active, and are involved in a wide range of research areas, from green corporate reputation to sustainable hospitality management, sustainable business behaviour and customer attitude. Entry requirements
Applicants need to have a minimum of a 2.2 Bachelor degree (with Honours) in a Business, Hospitality or Events subject or equivalent overseas Bachelor’s degree recognised by BNU. Applicants without the above may be admitted if they have a minimum of three years relevant professional work experience. Relevant work experience includes at least a supervisory or junior management level position in the hospitality industry or professional work experience gained in another sector, but with a demonstrable link and/or connection to these sectors (e.g., museums and arts organisations, local authority leisure services) International students for whom English is a second language require an IELTS score of 6.5, with no area below 6.0 (or a recognised equivalent).
