Course summary
Throughout this one day a week programme, you will gain a solid understanding about the diverse contexts of health and social care professions, and the programme also incorporates the National Minimum Training Standards for Adult Social Care Workers in England (Skills for Care 2013). Your course will include psychological, historical, cultural, sociological, socio- political and philosophical viewpoints, delivered through a combination of taught sessions and employer-supported work-based learning, giving you an ideal combination of learning methods. Entry Requirements – A BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health & Social Care (MMM grade), or similar qualification e.g. A Levels or Access to Higher Education (equivalent to 96 UCAS Tariff points) – You must be employed or doing voluntary work in a Health and Social Care setting for a minimum of 12 hours per week. You should have the support of your employer or voluntary setting (unless self-employed) and have a satisfactory enhanced DBS check – Two GCSEs at grade 4 or above, which should include English Language. A written task for applicants without evidence of GCSE qualifications can be undertaken Structure Year One:

Assessment method
