Foundation year Supports you to gain the academic skills required for degree-level studyProvides a grounding in key areas of health, education, psychology and wellbeing. Degree Success in this field demands a combination of creativity, empathy, logical thinking and extensive knowledge, coupled with the capacity to draw upon personal life experiences. Given the dynamic nature of this industry, this course emphasises the exploration of policies, procedures, exemplary approaches and hands-on learning to provide a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental aspects of child development. Successful completion of all modules (across all three levels) and assessed placements will lead to an Honours degree with Graduate Practitioner Competencies. In the foundation year, the modules are: Academic Skills for Health and Social Care Working in the Health and Social Care Sector Life Processes for Healthcare Social Care Perspectives During the degree part of the course, the modules are: Year 1: Collaborative and Inclusive Relationships in Early Years Setting Promoting Children’s Health, Wellbeing and Safety The Child, the Family and the Community Learning and Development Through Play Year 1 ECDL Placement Year 2: Early Years Pedagogy and Practice Theoretical Perspectives on Child Development Sustainability in the Early Years Undertaking Research in the Early Years Year 2 ECDL Placement
