The Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering for England (HTQ) builds on the HNC foundation, providing advanced mechanical knowledge and applied skills. As a Higher Technical Qualification, it is designed with employers to meet occupational standards, ensuring graduates are industry-ready. Students will study advanced mechanical principles, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and computer-aided design/manufacture, alongside leadership and project management. Students applying for the Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering for England (HTQ) will need to have successfully completed one of the following qualifications: • HNC in Mechanical Engineering for England (HTQ) • HNC in Engineering for England (HTQ) • HNC in Operations Engineering for England (HTQ) Please note: Applicants progressing from the HNC in Engineering for England (HTQ) or the HNC in Operations Engineering for England (HTQ) will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and acceptance will be at the discretion of the University Centre Grimsby.
