Course summary
The HNC/HND Manufacturing Engineering will provide you at level 4, with a broad introduction to the engineering sector as well as a focused introduction to manufacturing engineering. The programme will develop and strengthen your core skills while preparing you for more specialist subjects at Level 5 or to enter employment with the qualities necessary for job roles that require some personal responsibility. In the programme you will gain a wide range of scientific and engineering knowledge linked to practical skills obtained through research, independent study, directed study and workplace scenarios. You will be involved in vocational activities that help them to develop behaviours (the attitudes and approaches required for a competence) and transferable skills. Transferable skills are those such as communication, teamwork, research and analysis, which are highly valued in higher education and in the workplace. You will be taught by expert lecturers in the state-of the-art facilities on offer in our Southwest Skills Campus and will also be able to take advantage of all the other fantastic facilities on offer at UCW. About the course: This programme has been designed to develop you as professional, self-reflecting individuals who are able to meet the demands of employers in the engineering sector and adapt to challenges in a constant changing world. The academic elements of these courses are taught in the bespoke laboratories and workshops at the recently-redeveloped South West Skills Campus in Weston.
