Course summary
The need for smart buildings, with improved reliability and performance and low environmental impact, has driven the industry to be more responsive to new and advanced technologies. Our Digital Construction MSc develops your understanding of digital technologies, so you can be part of the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry’s digital transformation. Learning with our course team of research-active experts you’ll evaluate and provide appropriate digital solutions throughout all stages of the building life cycle to ensure efficiency and sustainability from design to demolition. You'll understand, manage and apply new and advanced technologies to industry’s current practice, including Building Information Modelling, robotics and automation, AR/VR, point-cloud scanning, AI and the Internet of Things. Working closely with your supervisor you will undertake a substantial research or design project that reflects your interests and career aspirations. Option modules in areas including environmental sciences, built environment, energy and sustainability, complement your study. Our well-established links with industry provide networking opportunities and shared insight of current industry trends from guest lecturers.

Degree and experience Honours degree; or other degree plus at least two years postgraduate experience in a position of responsibility; or full membership of a relevant chartered professional body.
