Course summary

Have you always had an urge to help those in need and make a positive difference in people’s lives? This programme can provide you with the theoretical framework needed to start you on your path to practising counsel work. You will learn how to help relieve clients of their suffering and enable you to support them in developing their self awareness, self-worth, and coping strategies to manage their lives more effectively. Throughout the course, you will develop relevant transferable skills such as critical enquiry, analysis, and capacity for independent learning. Alongside this, you will also gain real-life work experience by working in placements and helping service users. You will complete a total of 100 hours of clinical practice as a trainee counsellor.

Assessment method

You will be assessed by a variety of methods, such as assignments, presentations, exams and seminars.

Qualified teacher status (QTS)

To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
