Study in the Cambridge Centre for Sports and Exercise Sciences, with its accredited exercise testing and human movement facilities. Here, you’ll learn to work safely and ethically as a sport and exercise scientist. You’ll explore the four key disciplines of sport and exercise science – physiology, psychology, biomechanics and nutrition – and get hands-on experience working with athletes and members of the public. We also welcome talented athletes and offer financial support through our Sport Scholarship. Our flexible modules allow you to explore different aspects of sport and exercise science, from sports psychology to strength and conditioning. Through lectures and practical sessions, you’ll explore how the body performs, and responds to, physical activity. You’ll also look at data collection and interpretation; and sports coaching and its relationship to exercise science. In our extensive labs, you will learn to evaluate human movement, undertake physiological assessments, general skills related to data collection, data handling and data presentation. and work with real clients to provide nutritional support. In your final year, you can choose between a research project, or working and completing a project in industry. You'll also have optional modules to work as a gym instructor or personal trainer and become a qualified member of Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA). Sport and Exercise Science graduates are in demand. There are wide-ranging employment opportunities for sport scientists, from introducing people to sport and exercise, to helping take them to the top. Among other roles in the health and fitness industry, you could work as an athlete-support scientist, an exercise consultant, a performance analyst, a clinical psychologist plus much more. 95% of students go on to work/and or further study 15 months after his course. Assessment method

Throughout the course, we’ll use a range of assessment methods to help you measure your progress. These include presentations, practical skills tests, scientific reports, case study critiques, online assessments and a research project. We’ll also encourage you to reflect on your work, and participate in peer assessment.
