About this course: Learn the knowledge and skills to foster the academic, social, and emotional development of young learners. Skills: On our BA Education, our priority is ensuring that you graduate with a professional skillset. This incorporates;
  • A hands-on, practical route into the education sector.
  • Gain a deep understanding of working life in schools, the education system and the issues faced by classroom practitioners.
  • Those with Teaching Assistant experience, can become an accredited Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HTLA), formally recognised as a graduate level outcome.
  • These three strands will ensure that you are ready for the practical realities of the education sector.

Modules

After completeing your Foundation Year You’ll explore everything from historical and cultural perspectives on education to cutting-edge debates shaping today’s classrooms and policies. Focus on building strong study skills, supported by a dedicated Academic Guidance Tutor (AGT) and a Student Engagement Coach to help you transition into university life in year 1 Apply your knowledge through a professional placement in an educational setting while deepening your academic skills and exploring global perspectives on education in year 2 Prepare for life after Roehampton with modules that emphasise employability, professionalism, and continuous professional development in year 3 Alongside lectures, seminars, and workshops, you’ll also take part in external trips, guest lectures, programme-wide events, and interactive projects designed to broaden your learning and connect you with the wider educational community.
