Course summary

The BA (Hons) User Experience (UX/UI) is a new course that enables students to design intuitive, inclusive, and engaging digital experiences through the creation of user-centred interfaces for apps, websites, products, and emerging technologies. Conceptually, the course focuses on designing for people. It places human-centred design at its core, encouraging students to develop meaningful digital solutions that reflect values such as accessibility, inclusivity, and ethical practice. Students will explore how UX and UI design can shape user behaviours, influence cultural interaction, and support positive change across education, health, sustainability, and beyond. Students gain valuable knowledge of: • User research methods and usability testing • Interaction design and information architecture • Interface creation using industry level tools • Prototyping and wireframing for apps, websites, and AR/VR platforms • Design thinking and iterative development • Emerging technologies including AI-assisted design and voice UI Throughout the course, students will undertake live briefs with industry partners, preparing them for careers in UX/UI design, digital product design, or postgraduate study. This course is part of a specialist Arts University where students will be able to work alongside other like-minded and creative individuals, all who add to the unique dynamic of the AUB campus.
