Course summary

Zoology is key to tackling some of the major challenges facing our planet today. On your three-year Zoology degree you will explore all areas of animal life from cell biology to entire ecosystems, developing an understanding of fields including evolution, conservation, and behaviour. Teaching from our expert staff, combined with the extensive practical experience you can gain from a broad variety of field trips in the UK, Spain and Belize, will ensure you can be fully equipped to realise a successful job in a broad variety of careers from veterinary medicine and conservation, to animal or farm management. In year three, you'll complete an independent research project. You can also choose to take a fourteen day field trip to Belize, to study tropical ecology. You will also have the opportunity to spend a semester studying at a university in Europe or Australasia. We enjoy a close link with nearby conservation charity and zoo, Marwell Wildlife, which will add a different perspective to your learning.
