Course summary
Biomedical engineering research at Swansea We have a broad programme of research, applying engineering principles to the human body and to the machines and instrumentation used in modern healthcare. We also have a longstanding interest in computational and mathematical analysis of biomedical systems. Our work falls within three research themes:
- Bioanalytics – data modelling and statistical analysis
- Biomaterials – developing novel therapeutics
- Biomechanics – experimental & computational study of biomechanical systems
Entry requirements
Applicants for PhD must normally hold an undergraduate degree at 2.1 level (or Non-UK equivalent as defined by Swansea University) in Engineering or similar relevant science discipline. We also welcome applications from graduates in computational science or mathematics. IELTS 6.5 Overall (5.5+ each comp.) or Swansea University recognised equivalent.
