Course summary

This programme introduces the key principles, methods and techniques used in clinical research in modern health service settings. It will equip you with the essential skills required to effectively support healthcare research innovation. These programmes are designed to cover the practicalities of conducting research as well as its theoretical basis. You will:

  • Enhance your knowledge of methodological concepts and analysis
  • Design research studies
  • Demonstrate understanding of operational, ethical and legislative frameworks for the management and governance of clinical research
The programmes are delivered by face-to face teaching and via online learning, which is supported by online resources. They are designed with a tiered exit structure and provide progression routes to the Master's Degree.

Assessment method

Coursework, including reports, research proposals, critical appraisals and oral presentations


Entry requirements

2:1 Hons degree (UK or equivalent) in a relevant subject including medicine, nursing, psychology, biological sciences or related subjects.
