Course summary

Develop the knowledge and skills required to excel in your career in technology, AI or finance with our MSc Financial Technology This interdisciplinary course will teach you to innovate and adopt new technologies to transform the financial industry, democratise finance, and accelerate financial inclusion. The course was devised out of our Gillmore Centre for Financial Technology, a world-class, cutting-edge research hub focusing precisely on this subject. You’ll first be trained in quantitative methods, data science, artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, finance, and information systems. As your knowledge develops, we’ll be encouraging you to evolve your creative mindset by challenging and critically evaluating established paradigms within the field. Not just another finance course with a couple of crypto or AI modules, our MSc Financial Technology provides an in-depth, specialised curriculum designed for the FinTech era.

Assessment method

Your course will be taught through an exciting mix of face-to-face and online learning, utilising the format most suitable to the content, and in a way that helps you balance your workload and make the most of opportunities for extra-curricular activities. Teaching and assessment will vary to fit the subject being studied. Our faculty have designed your learning experience to fit the subject being studied, with a variety of teaching and assessment styles. Your teaching will take the form of lectures and webinars, supported, where relevant, by guest speakers from industry to balance theory and practice. Your learning will be assessed by a mix of exams, group work, project work, and tests. Group and project work will enable you to collaborate and gain new perspectives from your international cohort, preparing you for working in teams within a global work environment.


Entry requirements

Entry requirements 2.1 achieved at Undergraduate level We do not require a GMAT or GRE score, this will not be considered as part of your application or affect your outcome. English language requirements If English is not your first language, you must meet a minimum overall standard in a recognised test of English, examples are shown below. You must show a good balance across all sections of the test and it must have been taken within two years of starting the course.
