Course summary
With a strong focus on research methodologies relevant to public health, our new MPH Public Health (Health Research) provides you with a thorough grounding in basic and advanced public health concepts and theories. You'll gain the skills required for public health practice, including the skills to manage, initiate, implement and assess changes, and vital transferable research skills including quantitative and qualitative methodologies. You'll be taught by a wide range of globally renowned public health and health research experts who are at the forefront of public health research in their specialisms. Our collaborative approach to learning means that our academics' networks are shared with you, so you’ll benefit from relationships and connections with a range of external partners worldwide, including WHO. The Nottingham Centre for Public Health and Epidemiology at the University of Nottingham holds a full Institutional-level Accreditation by the Agency for Public Health Education Accreditation (APHEA), with the MPH (Health Research) having a fully accredited APHEA curriculum. We also offer excellent pastoral support – including research support, personal tutoring, careers guidance, alumni support and social events – to help you make the most of your time with us. Our provision of extracurricular opportunities has won University of Nottingham awards.

Assessment method
Computer-based exercises, Exams, Written work, Presentations, Dissertation. Your work will be assessed during or at the end of each module through a variety of means. To complete a module and gain its credits you'll need to make sure you attend your timetabled sessions and get over the 50% pass mark. To achieve the MPH, you'll need a total of 180 credits.
Entry requirements
UK/Home: Undergraduate degree Our standard entrance requirement is 2:1. We may consider a 2:2 if you have evidence of work experience relevant to public health, global health, or health research. This will also be subject to a successful interview. EU/International Students: ndergraduate degree Our standard entrance requirement is 2:1. IELTS 6.5 (no less than 6.0 in each element) English language requirements As well as IELTS (listed above), we also accept other English language qualifications. This includes TOEFL iBT, Pearson PTE, GCSE, IB and O level English. We treat all applicants with alternative qualifications on an individual basis. We may also consider relevant work experience.
