The Certificate of Higher Education (Cert HE) in Digital Production offers unique approach to getting you the skills you need to enter the digital creative industries in either Graphic Design or VFX and Media fields. The unique structure of the programme is beneficial for those who want to specialise in either Visual Effects & Media Technology or Graphic Design & Content Creation as part of the 3-year degrees, providing a strong foundation and specialised skills for these fields. You will gain highly sought after skills in creating moving images, media graphics, visual effects, animation, motion capture during the programme and in the 2nd semester you will specialise in either VFX & Media Technology or Graphic Design & Content Creation, by choosing from elective modules. This will allow you to specialise in your chosen digital creative field, in preparation for progress to industry at an entry level or to progress to the Foundation Degrees offered in either VFX & Media Technology or Graphic Design & Content Creation in your 2nd and 3rd years. Following your choice of elective modules you will be unable to change pathway – You will be guided carefully by staff, supported with diagnostic and personalised information on your skills and career trajectory to make the best decision for you. Choosing Blackpool and The Fylde College for this course means you will be part of a curriculum that is directly informed by industry needs and collaborations. This course is ideal for individuals looking to enter the digital design, media, and production industries. The flexible and broad structure of the programme gives you an amazing range of skills, allowing you to develop and choose your pathway to industry in a supportive and professional environment. The work-based learning (WBL) or industry focused elements of your course are integrated throughout the programme, woven into several modules and their learning outcomes. During the Cert HE Digital Production at Level 4, you will engage in project-based assignments designed to mirror real-world digital and design practices, with these experiences building in complexity as you progress through the course and onto the 2nd and 3rd year of the full degree. WBL is further enriched by live briefs provided by industry partners. These briefs will simulate professional conditions, requiring you to meet the specific demands set by external stakeholders. Engaging with these industry-sourced projects will not only expose you to authentic work environments but also help you develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours essential for success in the digital design and media technology sector.
