Course summary
The Psychology Foundation Year course has been specifically developed to provide you with the knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles of Psychology to prepare you for study on one of our BSc Psychology degrees. Throughout the duration of this course you will gain an understanding of the sub-disciplines, classic studies, career paths, underlying debates and controversies related to psychology. You will also acquire key transferrable skills that will prove invaluable when you enter the workplace. This course is one of the only foundation year courses in the country that is taught entirely within a psychology department, ensuring that all of the content is relevant and tailored towards the curriculum of the BSC level degree. On successful completion of this course you will possess the qualification required to progress onto Psychology BSc (Hons) or Psychology with Criminology BSc (Hons) Ranked 39th in the UK for Psychology (Complete University Guide 2022). Teaching is backed up by a well-designed support system that will underpin your learning journey. You will have access to a Guidance Tutor with whom you can discuss any academic issues. Extensive feedback from both tutors and peers is built into the course.
