Never before in history have the issues of what causes terrorism, how to combat it, and how to assess and manage the risks associated with it, attracted such wide and international attention and controversy. The need for accessible, comprehensive and reliable research and education on terrorism and counterterrorism remains profound. This MSc addresses those needs drawing on Cranfield’s expert staff and unique facilities to offer students an exceptional and cutting edge programme in this critical area.
Entry requirements
We welcome applications from talented individuals of all backgrounds and each application is considered on its individual merit. Usually applicants must hold: A UK lower second-class (2:2) undergraduate degree with honours, as a minimum, or equivalent international qualification. Ideally applicants will have studied in criminology, law, politics, psychology, or a forensic science discipline. Applications from candidates with relevant work experience in combination with a degree that does not meet the minimum entry requirement will be considered. Security clearance for Shrivenham Some Cranfield University courses are delivered at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom, Shrivenham which is a Ministry of Defence (MoD) site. All applicants to courses that are wholly or partially delivered at Shrivenham must hold suitable clearance. A first or second class honours degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline (e.g. criminology, law, politics, psychology, forensic science, etc) or the professional equivalent. Students with other degrees who can show a knowledge of and interest in the elements of the subject will also be considered.
