Modules
Year 1 You’ll explore the fundamentals of animation, including storytelling, visual design, and digital and analogue techniques. You’ll also develop creative and professional skills, such as collaboration, research and use of specialist software. Core modules Introduction to Animation Cultural Contexts in Animation Sequence and Narrative in Animation Animation Principles and Practice Year 2 You’ll build on your foundation, developing more advanced animation projects, visual effects and narrative work. Option modules and collaborative projects allow you to tailor your studies and gain practical experience in professional-style briefs. Core modules Global Challenges – Visual Communication Visual Language and Personal Voice In Animation Advanced Animation Animation Critical and Professional Contexts Animation Industry Studio Optional placement year An optional placement year gives you the chance to apply your skills in a professional setting, gain industry experience and build valuable contacts before returning for your final year. Final year You’ll produce a large, independent animation project, bringing together all your technical and creative skills. Supported by professional practice modules, your work will be showcased to industry professionals and peers in our Graduate Exhibition.
