Course summary

Being involved in the educational and personal growth of children can offer a highly fulfilling profession. This course specifically concentrates on children aged 0-8, with the goal of equipping you to make a valuable contribution to early childhood development. You’ll be introduced to the key concepts and principles of childhood development and learning with the expectation of gaining an understanding of factors that impact upon learning and development, from both individual needs to environmental influences, for children between the ages of 0 to 8 years. This Higher National Certificate (HNC) follows the Year 1 curriculum of the Early Childhood Development and Learning BA (Hons) degree course. Qualification requirements

All applications are considered on an individual basis and the whole application is reviewed which includes previous and predicted qualifications, experience, reference and your motivation to study the course. The University also accepts the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate/BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma and BTEC Level 3 National Diploma/BTEC Level 3 Diploma for entry onto degree programmes, provided that they are studied in combination with other qualifications that are equivalent to three A2 Levels. This may include subject specific requirements where necessary.
