More about this course On this course, you’ll explore how psychology can be applied to better understand and address real-life issues. You’ll consider questions such as: How can psychological research help us support people’s mental health? What influences behaviour in educational or forensic settings? How do social, cultural, or biological factors shape the way people think, feel and act? You’ll also develop transferable skills such as research, problem-solving, ethics and critical thinking skills as you investigate complex topics across applied psychology. You’ll have the opportunity to specialise in areas such as clinical, counselling, educational or forensic psychology, and you’ll complete an independent research project on a topic that interests you – designed and carried out with the support of expert tutors. You'll be assessed through a variety of coursework-based methods, including research reports, case formulations, intervention designs and mental health campaigns. 240 credits (minimum level 5) obtained from courses / modules which include comprehensive coverage of the core psychology sub-disciplines (cognitive, developmental, biological, and social psychology; personality and individual differences; psychological research methods).
