Course summary

This MSc is designed to prepare internationally qualified dental graduates for practice in the UK. The course provides a comprehensive grounding in six key training areas: basic sciences and their application to modern day dental practice, applied principles of clinical dentistry, clinical skills, communication skills, professionalism, management and leadership.

Assessment method

Multiple-choice and extended matching questions (EMQ) examinations. Professional Development Portfolio Final exam of two written papers, an OSCE and SCR exam A clinical case report A clinical audit project report and presentation The dissertation forms a major component of your degree. You’ll be assessed on a 15,000-word literature review and clinical audit project.

Entry requirements

Applicants need to have a recognised UK dental degree. Overseas degrees in Dentistry will be considered provided they are equivalent to UK 2.1 degree. Applicants also should have 12 months of post-qualification experience.


English language requirements

All applicants to Queen Mary must show they meet a minimum academic English language standard for admission and to be successful on the course.
