Course summary
This certificate allows you to combine business management with French, German or Spanish. You’ll divide your study equally between both subjects. It offers a broad grounding in key concepts associated with business management and a sound knowledge of the basic concepts associated with the study of your chosen language. You’ll explore how businesses develop strategies, handle risk and take decisions. You’ll see what’s involved in functions such as marketing, accounting and finance. Combining this with the study of a modern language opens doors to other cultures and communities, and can provide a key to the global workplace. The name of your certificate will reflect your chosen language (e.g. Certificate of Higher Education in Business Management and German). Key features of the course
- Develops a broad understanding of business organisations and their key elements.
- Explores some wider considerations such as environments, markets and processes, and how they work together.
- Develops you into an independent user of your chosen language, reaching level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
- Develops broad knowledge of the cultures that use your chosen language.
- Improves competence in intercultural communication.
Modules
This certificate has only one stage, comprising three modules: You’ll study an introductory business management module. You’ll choose your language - French, German or Spanish - and study two language modules. Which language modules you choose will depend on your current modern language proficiency. You can either start at beginners’ level and then go on to intermediate level, or (if you have sufficient prior knowledge of your chosen language) start at intermediate level and study an extra module.
