About this course If you’re considering a career in professional design, this course provides the skills, knowledge and practical experience you’ll need. Design work covers domestic and commercial furniture, housewares and ceramics, industrial and technology products. Our workshops will provide you with a platform for experimentation and discovery. You’ll study key themes, such as sustainability, design process, manufacturing and the roles that designers play in industry. The course collaborates and engages with industry at all levels, from live industry briefs to masterclasses and talks by industry professionals. Your work will be promoted through international design competitions, major graduate shows and external exhibitions. You’ll graduate with a professional portfolio of work, giving you a springboard to employment. Future Skills Embedded within every course curriculum and throughout the whole Kingston experience, Future Skills will play a role in shaping you to become a future-proof graduate, providing you with the skills most valued by employers such as problem-solving, digital competency, and adaptability. As you progress through your degree, you'll learn to navigate, explore and apply these graduate skills, learning to demonstrate and articulate to employers how future skills give you the edge.
