Primary instrument/specialism
- Video Design
- Visual Arts
In this course focusing on creating digital video content and its application in live performance events – and also exploring the potential to develop VR and AR design – you’ll work as a key creative in live and virtual productions alongside professional video supervisors. Take a deep dive into producing immersive video designs for live and virtual performances that stir the imagination of audiences and push the limits of technical possibility. Throughout this course, you’ll create content for video and examine video mapping techniques while learning a variety of related technical production skills. Depending on your specialism – which you’ll have the freedom to really explore here – you have the opportunity to develop work that encompasses augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technologies. As a video design student, you’ll work as a key creative in live and virtual College productions alongside professional video supervisors operating at the top of their field. You’ll also be introduced to the industry through placements during both years of your training, helping you to forge links for future employment.
During the application and audition process, you must select which instrument(s) you wish to specialise in for the duration of your course. On this course, you can choose from the following options:
Only one specialism is studied. It may be possible to study a further instrument, but this will not contribute towards the qualification.
For all courses, you must select at least one specialism from the 'primary' list. For those studying primary/secondary pathways, two instruments may be selected – one from the 'primary' list and one from the 'secondary' list. Joint pathway students may select any two instruments from either list.
