Photography at University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) - UCAS

Course summary

Are you a creative practitioner, looking to build a solid technical and theoretical foundation in the field of contemporary photography? Maybe you’re looking to expand your academic experience? Do both with our Photography HNC. Explore a range of different genres such as portraiture, environment, still life, and documentary practice, whilst generating an extended portfolio. Base yourself largely in your home region, with two short practical residentials held at UHI North, West and Hebrides (Broadford). Take advantage of specialist printing facilities and participate in our portfolio presentation module, with opportunities to present your work to the public. You will need access to photographic equipment and computer facilities with editing software, plus sufficient studio space for practical work. Please note that UHI North Highland, UHI Outer Hebrides and UHI West Highland have changed their names to become UHI North, West and Hebrides. This will not impact on your choice of course or how and where you will study.
