Course summary

Why Business Administration and Management? If you’ve already studied management and would like to gain a deeper understanding to degree level, this could be the course for you. We’ll focus on the functional areas of business, exploring management and leadership in both a theoretical and applied context. How will you learn? You will learn through practical application and delivered lectures, workshops, seminars and group work sessions.

  • This one-year course will give you the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of management.
  • You’ll have the chance to develop your management skills alongside your understanding of organisational change.
  • As you progress, we’ll encourage you to develop an area of special interest and expertise by choosing particular modules.
  • The course has been developed in close association with employers and professional bodies.
  • We also work closely with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and you’ll have the opportunity to achieve a CMI Level 5 Certificate qualification in Management and Leadership through no additional study or assessment.
What subjects will you cover? Your programme of studies will include three core modules: Strategy in Context, Managing Cross Cultures and Leadership: Process and Organizations in Context. You will also be able to choose from range of optional modules, such as E-Commerce, International Business, Marketing for Small Business and Environmental Management. Professional links and accreditation: You can register with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI - http://www.managers.org.uk/) providing a further qualification and enhancing your CV through membership of a professional body. Upon successful completion of the course and after completing the registration, achieve a CMI qualification in Management and Leadership. Qualification requirements

Entry requirements for this course are normally one of the following: * Higher National Diploma or equivalent (eg two year advanced diploma level or comparable qualifications). * Foundation degree or 120 ECTS.


English language requirements

If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent will be considered acceptable.
