ABOUT THIS COURSE Our Level 5 HND - Career Musician course ensures that you continue your journey into the industry. This immersive program is designed to give you the skills and knowledge you need to make your mark. Our industry-active teachers bring invaluable real-world knowledge and experience - preparing students for the challenges and opportunities they'll encounter in industry. Our partnership with Laney Amplification also provides industry standard equipment and many opportunities. KEY UNITS This course covers everything you need to establish yourself as a professional musician - prepared for industry. From understanding your place in the local and global market to marketing and promotion strategies that will help you grow your fanbase. Professional development modules ensure you're ready for the demands of the industry, while instrumental technique and music performance classes let you hone your craft and perform to live audiences in local venues. You'll delve into applied music theory and Songwriting to understand the science behind the magic and create your best work. Plus, you'll learn the fundamentals of sound engineering, ensuring your live performances always sound exactly as they should. Get ready to turn your passion into a profession and transform your dreams into reality. Key units: 31 Creative Research Project 32 Music and Brands 33 Artist Management 34 Getting the Right Deals ENTRY REQUIREMENTS A level 4 qualification in the subject area at a minimum pass level. ASSESSMENT Students will generally produce evidence of practical application of theory, such as portfolio of composition or portfolio work, along with accompanying written work to assess knowledge and understanding. Written work may include context, research, justification, reflection and/or evaluation. Each module learning outcome will be assessed once, although there will be scope for students to try ideas and obtain self, peer and/or tutor formative feedback. WHERE DOES THIS LEAD Following completion of this course student can progress on into work in the industry or to a Top-Up degree at university.
