Course summary
Course details may be subject to change. The HNC in Construction Management can lead to Incorporation or Chartership status with the Chartered Institute of Building and other professional bodies. Construction Managers direct, organise and co-ordinate resources for the construction and maintenance of building, civil and structural works including residential, industrial, retail and leisure facilities and associated infrastructure. You will be responsible for the programme, cost, quality and safety of development. You will attend the University Centre one day per week and will study key areas such as Construction Technology, the Construction Environment and Legal and Statutory Requirements. You will also be expected to conduct additional directed and independent study during your own time away from college to complete the programme. This course can also be completed as part of a Higher Apprenticeship. Please indicate at application/interview stage if this is a requirement of your employer.

Qualification requirements
4 GCSEs grade C or level 4 and above, plus 1 A Level, or 2AS Levels (40 points) BTEC National in a relevant construction/engineering qualification T-Level or an equivalent qualification If you hold a Level 4 or Level 5 qualification, you may be eligible for some accreditation for prior learning which can be discussed on an individual basis. You may be accepted on the course as a mature students if you have a suitable background or sector experience. There may be a requirement to complete an Aptitude assessment (this will be advised at interview). International students must have competent English-speaking skills and hold an IELTS score of 6.0. This can be discussed during the interview stage if there are any queries.
