Course summary
The Top-up Degree in Manufacturing Engineering is designed to offer flexible learning patterns and enable students with a relevant foundation degree to continue to progress on to a BEng(Hons) top-up programme in Manufacturing Engineering and practice in a career as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng). It is expected that the majority of students on this programme will continue from the FdEng in Manufacturing Engineering at New College Swindon, thus providing a continuous programme from Level 4 through to Level 6. The programme has been developed to answer the needs of industry which has experienced an increasing demand for employees with the right vocational knowledge and skills and with the independence to add value to organisations. Graduates from the programme will have a wider and deeper range of skills and knowledge than their contemporaries on more traditional courses that will help them progress and add value in the workplace or help them to continue their studies to a higher-level degree course.
