Every film goes through three states: pre-production, production and post production. Post production is the creative activity that can make a good film great, and with a growing demand for bigger and better visual effects, there’s never been a better time to study for a Editing and Visual Effects for Film and Broadcast degree course. Combining practical skills with theory, this BA (Hons) Editing and Visual Effects for Film and Broadcast degree course has been developed and shaped by leading production companies to ensure our teaching reflects a constantly evolving industry. You’ll cover all aspects of post production, from initial shooting to editing, sound design and VFX creation. At the heart of our post production university courses is collaborative practice, equipping you with the skills you establish a professional career in the creative industry. What’s more, you’ll be based at our MediaCity campus, meaning you’ll be ideally placed to tap into a network of leading post production and VFX companies. You’ll gain hands-on experience through a series of live briefs, while engaging with renowned industry practitioners and scholars across a variety of initiatives, events and projects. You will:
- Edit using Avid, an industry standard programme
- Learn 3D modelling with Maya; 2D composting and screen graphics with Nuke and After Effects
- Be based in the heart of MediaCity alongside major broadcasters and studios
- Hear directly from those working in industry
- Listen to guest lectures from people working on major projects
