About the course BA (Hons) Dance Top-up is designed for students who have completed a relevant foundation degree or equivalent qualification and want to progress to a full honours degree. The course focuses on developing your practical, creative and critical skills in dance, while supporting your transition to independent undergraduate study at level 6. You will build on your existing training through performance, choreography and research-led practice, with opportunities to refine your artistic voice and professional direction. The course is well suited to aspiring performers, choreographers, dance educators and those interested in wider creative and cultural industries. What you’ll study You’ll build a solid foundation in dance practice and theory, while gaining professional skills valued across the creative industries, including performance skills, choreographic development, critical analysis, research methods and reflective practice. Modules offered can vary each year but may include: • Advanced Dance Practice • Choreography and Performance • Dance Research Project • Professional Practice in Dance How you’ll learn You will learn through: • Studio-based practical classes and workshops • Rehearsals, performances and choreographic projects • Written assignments, presentations and practice-based assessment • Independent study supported by academic supervision and feedback You will also have access to online learning materials, digital resources and academic support through the University’s virtual learning environment. Qualification requirements

240 credits from a level 5 qualification, a foundation degree (FdA/ FdSc) or equivalent international qualification in a relevant subject. 240 credits from years 1 and 2 of an undergraduate degree (BA) in a relevant subject at a different institution. All applications will be reviewed by programme convenor to ensure appropriate background to succeed in the Dance degree offered at Roehampton.
