Course summary
You will learn about well-being and engagement in the workplace; processes for bringing groups together, such as appreciative inquiry, emotionally intelligent leadership, and how to build flourishing organisations, create resilient teams and ensure that business organisations contribute to a better world. At the heart of this programme are strengths-based approaches to organisational development, experiential case-study and mastery-based learning pedagogy.
Modules
Core Modules: Introduction to Applied Positive Psychology, Positive Psychology at Work, Positive Consultancy and Training, Capstone/Major Project/Dissertation. Optional Modules: Applied Psychology for Coaches, Positive Psychology Coaching, Positive Relationships.
Assessment method
You will be assessed in a variety of ways, designed to capture the multidimensional skills and understanding that you will develop on the course. Depending on the modules you take, these include essays, a personal portfolio, a professional portfolio, a process report, a consultancy project for an external organisation, a report with practical recommendations, a structured literature review and a choice between a capstone project, theoretical or a research project resulting in a journal article. If you are on the MAPP CP track, you'll also be asked to carry out a certain number of coaching sessions, submit a video and a transcription and write a critical coaching log and personal professional development plan to comply with EMCC requirements.
Entry requirements
Bachelor's degree with minimum Upper Second Class (2:1) or equivalent preferably in Social Sciences. Applicants with Second Class (2:2) Bachelor's degree with relevant work experience will be considered. We accept a wide range of European and international qualifications in addition to A-levels, the International Baccalaureate and BTEC qualifications. Please visit our International page English Language: Overall Academic IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing and Speaking; a minimum of 6.0 in Reading and Listening (or recognised equivalent). If you do not meet the academic English language requirements for your course, you may be eligible to enrol on a pre-sessional English programme. The length of the course will depend on your current level of English and the requirements for your degree programme. We offer a 5-week and an 11-week pre-sessional course .
