Course summary
This course has been designed for those students who want to work within sports science or coaching, and for the new generation of sports coaches who have a solid background in how the application of sports science can improve performance. The course is delivered in the Sports Performance Laboratory at our Taunton campus, where you will gain hands-on experience in testing sports performance using state-of-the-art and professional equipment. As part of the programme you will perform VO2max testing, blood lactate, performance analysis and biomechanical refinement on a variety of sports performers. This can then be applied to understand and aid sports performers through relevant coaching, pedagogical theory and best practice. Modules may include:

Assessment method
A variety of assessment methods are used throughout the course, including essays, group and individual presentations, research projects and other projects specific to the sports industry.
Qualified teacher status (QTS)
