Course summary
The purpose of the new Sports Science and Coaching degree programme is to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in the field of sports science and coaching. This programme aims to equip students with a strong foundation in sports science principles, coaching techniques, and practical experience, allowing them to pursue careers in various areas of the sports industry. As part of the programme, you will conduct a range of laboratory-based fitness tests in our state-of-the-art sport performance lab. Data produced will be applied to optimise sports performance through relevant coaching, pedagogical theory and best practice. Progression Opportunities On completion of the course you may progress into employment or you could continue your studies with a Master's degree or PGCE.

Assessment method
Assessment methods include traditional essays, laboratory reports, presentations, screencasts, podcasts and practical deliveries.
Qualified teacher status (QTS)
To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
