Course summary

For the Foundation Degree in Graphic Design with Photography at Warwickshire College and University Centre; you will cultivate an approach to design where the craft of assembling and manipulating images forms the basis for your practice encompassing photography's multiple environments. You will develop a range of integral creative skills that will challenge and inspire you, providing the platform needed to launch a career in the graphic design and photography creative industries. This course will involve substantial practical based work, whilst accessing graphic design, photography, film and media studios, as well as a range of professional camera equipment. Theoretical studies will underpin technical and practical skills and allow you to apply your creativity by taking on briefs as a professional designer or photographer. Modules may include: Year 1 - Level 4 Academic Study Skills, Employability and T-Shaped Concepts and Techniques Lens-Based Image Making Graphic Design Principles Collaborative Practice Year 2 - Level 5 Work-based and Placement Learning Application of Graphic Communication Motion Graphics Live Brief Professional Practice Students are expected to complete 100 hours of work-based or placement learning by the end of Level 5. Assessment method
