OVERVIEW While studying BA (Hons) Fine Art course at Norwich University of the Arts (Norwich), you will develop your skills in critical thinking, collaboration, independence and creativity. Learning and teaching is delivered within an ethical, diverse and sustainable context, resulting in skills and knowledge appropriate for a wide range of contemporary applications. Central to the aim of the course is the belief that you will ‘learn how to learn’, thereby providing resilience within future employment and practice. INTEGRATED FOUNDATION (YEAR 0) This course includes an integrated foundation year (Year 0), which promotes developing practical, technical and creative skills and confidence. Building on your prior experience, you will be introduced to some of our workshops to assist your skill development, with an increasing emphasis on professional standards and independent study. The course places emphasis on your personal commitment to study, while supporting you in your progression. KEY FEATURES

YOUR FUTURE Through a variety of projects, some working with external partners, your creative development will evolve alongside the acquisition of valuable transferable skills such as complex problem solving, communication skills, emotional intelligence, organisation and team working. Throughout your degree in Fine Art, you will have the chance to develop links with regional and national organisations and through the visiting lecture series you’ll get to network with contemporary artists, curators, academics and writers. In addition, the University provides a Year 2 optional additional year in work experience and professional practice. Assessment method

The University assesses you through the coursework you produce as you complete each unit. Each unit will require you to present a portfolio of work which may include finished pieces of work, written work, your research, and a reflective journal which allows you to evaluate your learning and highlight your strengths and areas for further development.
