Course summary
The Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Healthcare Professions’ Support for England (HTQ) is designed to support progression into relevant occupational areas or on to pre-registration study. Building on the learning of the Level 4 HNC, this programme supports you to develop a sound understanding of the principles of Healthcare Professions’ support and you will learn to apply these principles more widely. You will acquire the skills to evaluate the appropriateness of different approaches to solving problems. You will be able to perform effectively in your chosen healthcare field, and will have the qualities necessary for employment in situations requiring the exercise of personal responsibility and decision-making.

A typical profile for a student who has recently been in education would consist of: • GCSE English and Maths grades at C/4 or above, or equivalent Level 2 qualifications • HNC in related subject Mature students may present a more varied profile of achievement that is likely to include extensive work experience (paid and/or unpaid) and/or achievement of a range of professional qualifications in their work sector.
