Course summary
On this course, you will explore key cancer hallmarks, risk factors, and breakthroughs in treatment, preparing you to make a real impact in biomedical science. You will gain an in-depth understanding of the Hallmarks and Enabling Characteristics of Cancer. This includes looking at areas such as invasion and metastases, deregulating cell energetics, avoiding immune destruction and genome instability. We’ll also discuss how research can identify genetic, environmental, and behavioural risk factors. You have the opportunity to benefit from a research-driven environment where innovation is at the core. Our academics have led ground breaking advancements, from developing thalidomide analogues for cancer treatment to engineering cancer antibodies in plants and pioneering new therapies for advanced skin cancer.
