Open new avenues by topping up to degree level This course enables current registered midwives to top up their qualification to degree level, opening up a whole range of new career opportunities. This 18 month top-up course is designed for qualified midwives who already hold a DipAdvanced, CertHE or DipHE qualification who want to study for an undergraduate degree. As part of your course, you will have the opportunity to study clinical and professional practice-related inquiry methods in order to engage in clinical and practice development. Although you will be in current employment, successfully completing this programme will rapidly expand your career opportunities. You'll be able to take on specialist and leadership roles, as well as undertake further postgraduate studies. Previous graduates have gone on to work as a research midwife and clinical managers among other roles. If you need support with academic writing, numeracy and library skills, we'll be sure to provide it. Entry requirements

Qualification requirements

UK Registered Midwife with sufficient credits to meet the entry criteria of 300 credits, of which 60 must be at Level 6. These credits will be pre-accredited onto the degree pathway. The credits may be either from your initial midwifery qualification alone e.g. Diploma Advanced in Midwifery (or equivalent) or from a combination of your initial nursing qualification and any CPD modules you have completed (the CPD modules normally must be less than five years old).
