Course summary
The overall aims of the course are to enable graduates to acquire advanced understanding, knowledge, skills and professional values in mental health nursing in order that they may develop, deliver, lead, evaluate and research healthcare practice. In addition, the course aims to ensure that nurses who graduate are skilled, competent, compassionate professionals who have satisfied the academic and clinical requirements and standards stipulated in the NMC standards of proficiency and the academic requirements of King’s College London for the award of a Master’s degree. Bachelor's degree in any subject with 2:2 honours and 575 hours (approximately equivalent to four months FT) healthcare-related experience. Placements that have been undertaken as part of a previous undergraduate degree are also acceptable Grade C/4 or above in GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent. Functional Skills English level 2 at Pass and Functional Skills Maths level 2 at Pass are considered equivalent to GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics. It is highly desirable for applicants to have studied Biology or Human Science to GCSE level or equivalent. Please see our online prospectus for further information on entry requirements.
