Course summary

The purpose of Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Healthcare for England is to develop students as independent-thinking professionals who can meet the demands of employers and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualifications aim to widen access to higher education and improve the career prospects of those who take them. This course will prepare students for further study or training in healthcare-related fields. A student-centred approach to the curriculum, with a flexible, unit-based structure that focuses on developing the practical, interpersonal and thinking skills the student will need to succeed in employment and higher education. The Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Healthcare Professions’ Support for England requires at least 225 hours of work experience/placement in healthcare settings.

Assessment method

Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals are assessed using a combination of assignments that are set and assessed internally, and Pearson-set assignments, which are set by Centres in line with our guidelines and graded by Centres.
