Want to become a professional scriptwriter? Our MA Scriptwriting will develop your skills in writing for TV, Film, Theatre, Audio Drama, and Video Games.

  • Our Scriptwriting master's degree prepares you for a career as a professional scriptwriter. You'll increase your employment opportunities as our course mirrors industry practices.
  • Learn from experienced scriptwriters who will provide detailed, regular feedback on your scripts. This will enhance your knowledge of story structure, scene development, characterisation, and dialogue. You'll be able to transform your stories into industry-standard scripts.
  • You will have access to CELTX scriptwriting software to help format your scripts to a professional standard. And, you'll graduate with a portfolio of work across a wide variety of genres. This includes a feature length "calling card" script, that will showcase your writing talent to agents and producers.

Entry requirements

Degree: 2:2 Honours degree in related subject or equivalent qualification. A detailed admissions procedure will be forwarded on application. Candidates without the above qualifications will be considered providing that there is firm evidence of experience and commitment to at least one of the main areas of practical study: film or video making, Film and TV Screenwriting or digital imaging work. Demonstrable proof of writing skill or ability or potential.
