Our BEng (Hons) Engineering Management course enhances knowledge in core engineering disciplines. It provides essential research and business skills aligned with industry and accrediting bodies. By combining traditional engineering modules with management-focused content, you'll be career-ready for the growing demand for engineers with managerial expertise. This programme provides an ideal path if you want to understand what an engineering management degree offers. Excel at the end of the second year, and switch to a MEng in Engineering. By adding a fourth year of study this will put you on a path to become a Chartered Engineer. Deepen your knowledge of engineering principles, analysis, and design. Develop the research and project management skills crucial for industry demands. Take part in national and international-level competitions like the IMechE Design Challenge, Formula Students and Shell Eco-Marathon. You will gain hands-on experience in real-world scenarios encountered by engineers. Access state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and computer suites. Use simulation and modelling application software for virtual design and manufacturing.

Assessment method

Assessment tasks are mainly spread across the year to make the workload manageable. Assessment methods include group work, exams and individual work including essays, presentations, case studies, professional development and practical activities depending on the nature of the course. All grades count towards your module mark. More details will be included in the student handbook and module guides. You will always receive detailed feedback outlining your strengths and how you can improve. We aim to provide feedback on assessments within 15 working days, although you will receive immediate feedback following many of our face-to-face assessments.
