Course summary

Our BSc Computer Science (with Integrated Foundation Year) is a four year degree programme, including a foundation year to help develop your creativity before you embark on year one of a degree. Get prepared for a varied and exciting career in computer technologies and software, ready for the future of the industry, on our new BSc (Hons) Computer Science degree course at UCA Farnham. You’ll develop extensive knowledge, practice, and technical skills in a design-oriented, creative context. The curriculum emphasises designing and producing software outputs, supported by theoretical frameworks, problem solving skills and group working environments. Artificial intelligence and cyber security will be covered in depth, and you’ll be able to choose from a range of elective units to broaden your knowledge in specialist topics, such as microcontroller projects, sound and image processing, and motion capture and virtual production technologies. To enhance your studies, you’ll have access to our studios with high-end PCs and Alienware towers, 4k dual-screen monitors and Wacom Cintiq graphics tablets, alongside all the latest software. We also have a VR development studio, as well as sound production and Foley studios, Pro Tools and a specialist library – so you’ll have everything you need to delve into the exciting and ever-changing world of computer science.
