Embrace physical and digital methods of design and creating contemporary costume for live theatre, dance, film and more, developing your creative and sustainable practice. What can you expect? BA (Hons) Costume for Performance will prepare you for a career working within contemporary costume across the performance industries. The course integrates the intellectual demands of interpretation to evolve characters for performance alongside the specialist skills of designing and realising costume for, or as, performance.
- Contemporary practice: Go beyond traditional costume design and investigate the intersection of performance and fashion. You'll be exposed to a wide range of stimuli including text, character analysis and music, as you develop costumes for a range of performance styles.
- Collaborative: Connect with peers on other LCF courses to collaborate on live projects, simulating industry environments and developing your teamworking and networking talents.
- Expert teachers: Learn from industry professionals with valuable experience of working across all areas of performance and with performers such as Lady Gaga, Kylie Minogue and more.
- Holistic learning: Develop research, design and practical construction skills whilst also exploring the cultural, historical, social and political contexts of performance, enhancing your work.
- Industry exposure: You'll engage with industry throughout your course, with opportunities for work placements, internships and regular professional collaborations to support your practice, protocol and etiquette.
