Course summary

The BA (Hons) degree in Digital Film and Television Production at LMA is delivered by industry professionals and is designed to develop and prepare you professionally to meet the demands of a rapidly changing sector. LMA will develop your vision and cultivate your creativity and prepare you for work across a variety of streaming platforms, TV, film or web. All of this is underpinned by theory and academic study along with developing your own creative voice and vision. If you want to network and develop your contacts so you can direct award-winning films, write the next big television drama or shoot the next award winning box set, then this course is the first step to make that happen! Assessment method

You will experience a wide range of assessment methods at LMA which focus around your practical development in Digital Film and TV Production. . In your practical skills modules you will be assessed through your engagement in a range of technical skills briefs, scenarios and projects where you are required to demonstrate your mastery of a range of technical equipment and software techniques and programmes. In your creative production modules you are given the opportunity to respond to a range of briefs and projects and are challenged to create different types of Film and TV products, ranging from an individually devised short single camera film through to a larger production that responds to a set brief. You are assessed both individually, and as part of a team, reflecting the different work practices within the Film and TV Industry. Assessed production journals and planning exercises are also used which require you to reflect and analyse your own skills and identify ways you can develop in order to become a proficient digital filmmaker In addition, in the modules where you investigate the Film and TV industry and your role within it, you will again experience a variety of assessment methods such as poster presentations, comparative reviews of Film and TV products, and investigative reports examining aspects of the Industry.

This course is unable to accept international applicants who need a Tier 4 Student Visa to study in the UK as LMA does not hold a UKVI licence

Qualification requirements

LMA are happy to accept a wide range of qualifications, including but not limited to: A Levels, BTEC Extended Diploma, OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma, BTEC Subsidiary Diploma(s), Access to HE courses, Scottish Highers, IB Diploma Programme, Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, RSL Level 3 Diploma and T Levels. We also welcome students who have a combination of qualifications - e.g. 2 A Levels and 1 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma and an extended project. Our academic entry criteria from qualifications you are currently taking is 96 UCAS tariff points and your offer will be tailored to reflect this. We assess all applications individually.
