Course summary
Our BSc (Hons) Creative Computing (with Integrated International Foundation Year) is a four year course, specifically designed to provide international students with the English language and creative skills before they embark on year one of a degree. Develop your computing knowledge, practice and technical skills in a design-oriented, creative context on UCA’s new BSc (Hons) Creative Computing degree course. Taught at UCA Farnham, this course emphasises designing and producing software outputs, supported by theoretical frameworks, problem solving skills and group working environments. You’ll work on design outputs supported by financial literacy, data investigations and the application of a variety of analytical models to solve problems and make informed decisions in the development of the look, feel and placement of your advertising campaigns. You’ll learn about programming, data types and databases, web design and development and user interfaces, while creative visual coding is developed with applications in image and sound processing. Artificial intelligence, which is critical to modern computing, will also be studied in some depth including exploring its applications in creative domains such as music and the visual arts. You’ll develop a range of software by-products, some implementing real industry briefs, and explore different areas of animation, Elective units allow you to explore topics such as digital storytelling, sound and image processing, and motion capture and virtual production technologies.
Modules
For our students coming from a non-UK educational background, UCA has launched an Integrated International Foundation Year, based at UCA Farnham to bring students from around the world to one hub of creativity. This year of preparatory study is designed to give you the skills you’ll need to start your degree in the best possible way – with confidence, solid knowledge of creative practice, study skills and the English speaking and writing skills you’ll need to succeed. You’ll explore a range of creative techniques and develop your portfolio, with your chosen subject in mind. We’ll work with you throughout the year to ensure you’re on the right track and give you the tools to achieve your highest potential on your degree.

If you need a Tier 4 student visa to study in the UK, you will need to take an IELTS test, and achieve an overall score of 6.0 and a minimum score of 5.5 for each element (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing).
